Weight change percentage

Percentage change is how weight is usually discussed in clinic, because it compares across bodies in a way that absolute numbers do not.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and nothing is stored.

How it is worked out

The formula

change (%) = (current − start) ÷ start × 100. From 93.4 kg to 86.7 kg is −7.2%.

Units cancel

Pounds or kilograms both work, as long as both numbers use the same unit. The percentage is identical either way.

Why clinics use it

It compares like with like. Five kilograms means something different at 60 kg than at 120 kg; a percentage does not have that problem.

Common questions

Which starting weight should I use?
Whichever one the conversation is about — the first weight recorded, or the weight at the start of a medication. Cafeity keeps the date alongside the figure so the comparison is unambiguous.
Does Cafeity predict future weight?
No. It shows a smoothed trend of what you recorded, labelled as based on recent rate and explicitly not a prediction.
