How to delete your data

You should be able to leave without an argument. This page explains how to delete your Cafeity record, precisely what disappears, and the one thing that does not disappear immediately — and why.

In short

  • Delete everything yourself in Settings → Account → Delete account. No support ticket.
  • Deletion is immediate and cascading across the database and file storage.
  • Backups are purged within 30 days. That window is a disaster-recovery requirement, not a retention trick.
  • Export first if you want your data — deletion is irreversible and we cannot undo it.

Deleting from the app

  1. Open Cafeity and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Account, then Delete account.
  3. Confirm. You will be asked to confirm because it cannot be undone.

Consider Settings → Export first. It gives you a JSON bundle, CSVs and a PDF of everything you logged. Once deletion runs, we cannot produce it.

Deleting without the app

If you have deleted the app, changed device, or cannot sign in, email support@shaheercare.com from the address on the account and ask for deletion.

We will verify that the request comes from the account holder — that verification protects you — and then delete the record. We aim to complete this within 30 days and usually much sooner.

What is deleted

  • Every dose, meal, symptom, weight and measurement you logged
  • Progress photos and any other files you uploaded
  • Ora conversation history
  • Your account, profile and authentication credentials
  • Your consent records, after the deletion itself has been logged

Deletion cascades across the database and file storage together. We do not leave orphaned files behind.

What is kept, and for how long

Encrypted backups: up to 30 days. Backups exist so that a failure cannot destroy everyone's data. They cannot be edited in place — a backup you can reach into is not a backup — so deleted records persist in them until the backup rotates out. Within 30 days, they are gone.

An append-only deletion log. We record that a deletion happened and when. This is what lets us prove to you, or to a regulator, that we did it. It does not contain your health data.

Records the law requires us to keep. Chiefly billing and tax records for purchases, which tax law requires us to retain. These are held by Apple as the merchant of record for App Store purchases and contain no health information.

Subscriptions are separate

Deleting your Cafeity data does not cancel an App Store subscription — Apple controls that, and we cannot cancel it for you.

Cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions before deleting your account, or you may continue to be billed for a service you can no longer reach.

The website waitlist

If you only joined the waitlist on this website, we hold your email address and nothing else. Email support@shaheercare.com and we will remove it. There is no health data to delete, because this website never collected any.
